Ginny & Jordan's- Wedding

On what has been the most amazing day to date in Georgia, last Saturday Ginny and Jordan became newly weds during a intimate wedding ceremony surrounded by close family and friends. They could not have asked for a more perfect day to have an outdoor wedding on the grounds of the beautiful Heritage Green in Sandy Springs, GA.

Taking on the challenge of shooting the wedding solo, I was really excited to be a part of their big day. They are truly a beautiful and amazing couple. I wish them all the best in their marriage.

While I'm still editing the photos, I just wanted to give you guys a seek peak at what I'm looking at!

Can you say fierce?!?!?

Stay tuned.....

Look how big Z's getting.....

It would be fair to say that Z has become the official baby for GDemeritte Photography. I shot photos of him before he graced us with his presence in this world, 3 months, 6 months a now at 9 months. He is such a adorable baby and his smile is so infectious.

The camera loves him and he loves it. Don't you just want to kiss those cute chubby cheeks?!?!?!

The studio and I are friends.....

Last month I ventured back into the studio to work with a few amazing young dancers and a seasoned model. These ladies made the day in the studio a blast.

These girls are not only gorgeous they are amazing dancers and the pictures merely show the extent of their skills. I really wanted to focus more on beauty shots verse shots of their dancing techniques.

As for my seasoned model, it's always such a pleasure to shoot with someone that not only loves to be in front of a camera but with someone that the camera loves also. One word for this lady, fierce!

Ginny & Jordan -Engagement

I've lived in Atlanta for officially 3yrs and this past weekend was the hottest day on record for me and actually the entire city since the 90's. Ginny and Jordan are my October bride and groom and we had no idea 2 weeks ago when we planned their engagement session that it would be during record breaking temperatures. The thermostat was in triple digits, 103 degrees to be exact! I know that people may think that because I'm from the Bahamas that I should be use to hot temperatures but that was crazy!

Ginny and Jordan were real troopers and they endured the heat in style. They did a great job and they looked fabulous!

Absolutely loved the bling!

We had a ball and after two hours you would've never know that all of our shirts were soaked! They are the cutiest couple and they made the day, as hot as it was, a breeze.

Work it, work it, wooork it!

Normally it takes me forever to post on the blog, now I'm a posting fanatic! :-) Don't get to use to it!

During this very busy past weekend, I also had the opportunity to get in some studio time. Studio work is honestly not my first love when it comes to photography. I love natural light, space and surroundings; however, I believe I should challenge myself because studio is an important part of photography that I should aspire to master.

So along with some other great photographers, we gathered a awesome cast of characters to shoot head shots. I had a blast!

Don't tell anyone but I think these guys made me fall in love with studio photography just a little...... you know what, maybe I'm just a little infatuated. Who knows?!?!?!

I'm definitely looking forward to more time in the studio!

If you see these guys in the next blockbuster or TV sitcom, just remember you saw them here first!

Pretty in Pink!

Anyone that knows me, knows that my favorite color is pink! This past weekend I shot a birthday session for a beautiful 5yr old. She was the most adorable and easy going 5yr old I've ever met. Watch out Tyra because Lil Miss Corynn is America's Next Top Model 2027!

As you can see, she loves the camera and the camera loves her. I gave her little to no instructions during the shoot, she was just that natural in front of the camera. She totally rock this shoot and the color pink! Happy Birthday Lil Miss Corynn!

Family Affair

It's been a busy couple of weeks and it's as if time is just flying. And as time continues to fly by I continue to fall more and more behind in my post. But as usual, I have great work to show for my procrastination. I recently shot a family session for a friend and her beautiful family. I had the pleasure of shooting her maternity photos, so to shoot the family now that the baby is 5 months is so exciting. They are such a beautiful family; between them and the gorgeous day outside, my job was made so easy!

Thanks guys!

He was so adorable!

A mother's love for her baby is so special.

Bad Blogger....

I think I must be the worst blogger ever. It's been a month since my last blog, I promise to do better! I've been so busy, but at least I have something to show for it. I've been shooting with my fabulous coach Karen for a couple of weddings and that's kept me real busy. Did I mention that Karen is 7 months pregnant and still going hard at shooting these weddings? The word fabulous is a understatement for her, she's AWESOME!

Speaking of awesome here's a look at one of the fabulous couples.

So guys we're going to try this again next week!

March Madness!

It's that time again ladies and gents! March Madness has officially began. This year is a little bit different than it's ever been for our household. The husband is a HUGE Tarheel fan (surprisingly so am I); as would be expected due to the fact that he is a proud alum of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I on the other hand, am a proud alum of the Florida State University. If you know anything about college sports you would know that both are schools are in the same conference, the ACC. This past weekend  the ACC basketball championship was held here in Atlanta and of course we attended. As my luck would have it, FSU and UNC played each other in the championship game. Needless to say I was conflicted. Although I love my Noles, the husband has successfully influenced me to become a devoted fan of UNC basketball. The entire game I was on the edge of my seat, torn by whether I should do the FSU chop or sing "Tarheels, Tarheels..."with the rest of the crowd. At the end of the day with under a minute to go and 2 missed attempts at the 3 point line, FSU defeated UNC by 3 points. I felt   the loss more than the husband, he says, "that's not the championship we want." I can't explain it but I really love my Tarheel basketball and as we get ready for the NCAA tournament, I will cheer for my Seminoles but at the end of the day I'm praying my Tarheels are the National Champions when it's all said and done.

What a weekend.....

This was totally a weekend filled with photo ops! It has become my mission to perfect my craft everyday and after the week I had, I needed an outlet; however, the outlets I sort turned into a few tests of my skills. I started my weekend early with a 5k run. I didn't participate of course!lol I was invited to the 5k run by my photography mentor Karen, whom at 6 months ran the 5k. Karen is a true competitor at heart and whether pregnant or not she came to kick butt! The temperature outside was in the 30s but the windchill made it feel more like the 20s. I could not feel my fingers! I have never experience such pain in my fingers from the cold.  It was a little challenging to keep up with over a hundred runners and Karen with the camera, but I survived and I now have a great respect for sports photographers.

I then decided to take on a baby shoot. I must say that I  was blessed to have the opportunity to photograph the cutest and  most photogenic baby ever! At only 8 weeks, he loved the camera and he was so patient with me, the perfect client!

How I ended the rest of the night...........

I don't think I have enough energy to get into that, but I will say this much....... it is amazing that a moment captured by a camera touches the hearts of so many.

Into the studio we go.....

After much anticipation, I finally made it into the studio with the help of Donald (one of my photography coaches). It was a great experience, which I knew it would be. I have to admit I went in thinking, "oh my goodness what am I doing?!?!?!" I'm so glad I got a session under my belt. Our models were great and so patient with me as I TRIED to put my own creative spin on the shoot. Thanks ladies and a special thanks to Donald!
